Get to know a little bit more about me.
I smile a lot…because life is good! My joy is found throughout my day: spending time with family, going to church, laughing with friends, walking our dog, taking yoga classes, reading a good book, singing as I’m driving, traveling to new places, volunteering, sharing a kind word with as many people as possible, and photographing amazing families like yours!
I am married to my college sweetheart, Don. We met at the University of Virginia when I was on the dance team and he was the mascot. In addition to his full-time job as an executive with Wake Electric, my husband has been leading our church band for the past ten years. We have two amazing young adult children, Teagan and Tyler. This fall, Teagan will be heading to UNC Charlotte School of Architecture. Tyler will graduate early from the NC State College of Natural Resources this winter.
I planned to be a school teacher until I retired. My career choice was inspired by my fantastic sixth grade teacher. After earning my Masters in Teaching, I taught elementary school for five years. When our children were born, I developed a passion for photography and decided to open my business after many, many hours of practice. I am initially self-taught, but have continued my education throughout the years, as there is always more to learn. I am blessed to combine my love of the arts with my strong desire to document memories through my photography, for my own family and yours!
I love meeting new friends and enjoy collaborating to create personalized sessions that are unique and memorable. While I have a lighting setup, as well as on camera flash that I utilize periodically, there is nothing better than God's backdrops. My photography style reflects my personality: bright, colorful, fun-loving and joyful. I pride myself on my attention to detail, so you may be assured that your portraits are edited to perfection and produced on top-of-the-line professional products. I can't wait to meet you and create works of art that will be treasured for a lifetime!
(but also love a good, old fashioned, forward-facing portrait)
